Another banking is possible

Last Thursday in the Parliament, we approve a Proposition Not of Law, in which we were urging the Basque Government to support projects of ethical banking.
It looks like a contradictio in terminis, like that one of the military mission of peace, but not, there are banking projects for the world that have decided to do the things otherwise.
It does not stop being a bank, gives money and tries to recover it with interests, but there is a series of characteristics that make her different:
1. - They are constituted from associative, cooperative movements or social platforms, facing his decisions towards performances that could generate a positive social impact, in contrast to the entities that center on the criterion of maximum economic benefit.
2.-Se it distinguishes of the conventional banking in the social nature of the projects that he finances, in the ethical filter of the companies in which he invests and in the transparence of his actions. The ethical banks push back investing in companies related to the traffic of weapon, the labor development, the nuclear energy or the destruction of the environment.
3.-Comercializan not traditional financial instruments, like ethical investment funds or the more and more widespread microcredits. The ethical funds are characterized normally for presorting his social investments in projects or medioambientalmente sustainable. The microcredits develop especially to make possible the access to the persons' self-employment that they are excluded from the system of traditional credit.
4.-También they deal with offering credit to entities of the third sector that, due to the peculiarities of his functioning and the irregular of his economic yields, find important difficulties to gain access on the conventional credit.
It was a different, nice debate, and how not, the only one that remained out was the PP.
