The linguistic models

There are debates of the Basque politics that I have never finished of understanding very well and one of them is that of the linguistic models in the school.
Go ahead that I am a supporter of eliminating the models and of advancing towards a trilingual school and while this does not happen, also it it am of guaranteeing the freedom of election of the parents.
And it is precisely here where my incomprehension resides. What advantage has that your son / daughter does not know Basque?
What is clear is that with the model A, that of only 1 hour for week of Basque, the language is not learned.
Why do not we want that they teach Basque but nobody puts snags with English?
The fact is that I do not understand it, the truth.
I have gone the whole life to Basque schools, shape D, quite in Basque less subjects of Castilian literature and Latin.
I studied right in Basque with some subject in Castilian and, frankly, I do not meet not any more not less prepared than the people of my age that he studied in Castilian. Very well, I speak, read and write in Basque and them not.
I suppose that the parents and mothers who choose to deprive to his shoots of the knowledge of a language some motive will have, although I know by intuition that it is more ideological than pedagogic.
My option? And I return at first, the only educational model that guarantees the mastery of two official languages and at least one foreigner.
